Starting this thread to share contact info for large-animal veterinarians used by Eldorado barn-owners. Please add your own references, with contact info as available.
We use:
- Mark Meddleton for most medical issues, including dental work. Mark is in Corrales but comes to Eldorado as needed. His phone is (505) 344-2680.
- Doug Thal for surgery or other critical care. His facility is in San Marcos off the Turquoise Trail. Doug’s phone is (505) 438-6590
Berkley Chesen, DVM, comes to Eldorado Stables providing routine equine care, including treatment of lameness issues. She is a mobile vet out of Galisteo. Her phone number is 505-259-9802.
Ashleigh Olds-Sanchez, DVM, 505-570-5701, http://www.galisteobasinvet.com. I used Dr. Olds-Sanchez back in Colorado. She has now married and moved to Santa Fe, and lives and practices as a mobile vet out of her home in in Los Caballos, next subdivision south of Eldorado. She specializes in equine dentistry and lameness.
