Continuing an Equestrian Legacy › Community Bulletin Board › General Discussion › Problems with your hydrant? There may be a cheap fix
Between the recent water line replacement project and sub-freezing winter weather, several barn-owners have had leaks and other problems at their hydrants.
The plumbers who worked on the main lines have offered to replace individual hydrants for an eye-popping $1,200 price (equipment and labor)!
Before you spend that kind of money, you might want to try the simple and cheap fix of replacing the plunger. The parts are just $15 on Amazon, and you don’t need to dig up anything.
