    Take the time to become familiar with the Stable Evacuation Plan, and plan for a successful evacuation of your horses if needed. There are many good recommendations in the plan. Be prepared for the worst!

    Note that the Eldorado Volunteer Fire Department has a protocol of releasing livestock if they are threatened by fire. So if the Fire Department arrives at the Community Stables to fight a fire, they’ll make sure no equines are trapped in barns or pens by opening the gates. That’s why it’s so important that all equine owners be prepared to evacuate their equines to safety.
